FAMU offers various programs, where no full degree, but full credited curriculum is provided, with a certificate and ECTS summary received at the end. The main program of this type is the Academy Preparation Program and other short term programs (all up to 1 year). Many serve as a complementary part of the curriculum of students from other universities.
This program is best for you if you like directing - whether it's fiction or documentary, we will prepare you for both.

You will learn the basics of storytelling and how to bring the director's vision to life in the digital realm.

Stop-motion, 2D animation, 3D experimental animation, After Effects, development & pre-production, storyboarding, post-production. Was that too brief?
Are you intrigued by elusive and almost magic impact sound has on storytelling? Join our one-year course on film sound! You will learn how to operate basic recording equipment (different types of recorders, choosing the right microphone for the task, windshields, etc.), what are most common issues in recording the sound on the spot and how to avoid them. You will be guided through production and postproduction of your project by seasoned and acknowledged industry professionals. In the end you will have the new project in your portfolio - recorded, designed and mixed all by yourselves.
